About
I'm Bruno Prieto, a blind Rails programmer based in Madrid. I help teams build web applications that actually work for people with disabilities, not just on paper.
I authored the Rails Accessibility Guide for the Rails Foundation, spoke at Rails World 2024 about making accessible web apps with Rails and Hotwire, and previously worked at 37signals. I'm a Hotwire contributor and the author of the open source Focus Trap package.
I co-founded Callback Systems, where my partner and I build Mentables, a scheduling SaaS for independent professionals like psychologists, made with Rails and Hotwire. It started life as Ment.
I've been building web apps for as long as I can remember, starting around age eleven with a free .tk domain, a Dropbox public folder, and absolutely no idea what I was doing. The full version of that story is on the blog.
Off the keyboard I play drums, usually along to Iron Maiden.
